Listen to this week’s radio piece here or read the transcript below.  This week’s radio segment discusses Kwik Trip gas stations’ new electric charging ports in northern Iowa.

Imagine all our gas pumps replaced with electrical outlets. Kwik Trip gas stations in the Midwest are taking the initial step in making this vision a reality.

This is the Iowa Environmental Focus.

Kwik Trip recently installed free charging stations for electric vehicles in 25 of their new stores, including ones in Dubuque, Manchester and Charles City.

The University of Iowa has also done their part to encourage electric vehicle use by building a solar powered charging station on campus.

Additionally, cities around the nation have begun installing charging stations in many public and private parking areas.

With changes like these taking place and gas prices around the nation already very high, purchasing an electric vehicle is looking like a practical investment.
