The Iowa Water Conference, organized by the Iowa Water Center and its largest outreach event of the year, will bring together an estimated 400 experts and attendees from a variety of disciplines to tackle water issues across the state. These attendees will meet in large and small group sessions to discuss trends in water management in both urban and rural contexts. The Iowa Water Conference website lists 9 tracks for the two-conference, each with 4 sessions:

  • Strategies for Social Engagement
  • Green Infrastructure: Function
  • Green Infrastructure: Benefits and Maintenance
  • The Soil/Water Connection
  • Water Quantity
  • Current Technology
  • Nutrient Management
  • The Next Generation of Water Professionals
  • Research Presentations

Students at Ames High School will also present posters as part of Ames High’s Bluestem Institute, a leadership program for high school seniors currently completing a capstone project on water quality. Luther College students will also perform an original production called Body of Water the opening night of the event.

The Iowa Water Conference will take place Wednesday and Thursday, March 23-24. Registration is now open. For more information, visit the Iowa Water Conference website: http://www.aep.iastate.edu/iwc/
